Heimatabend and Bockbierfest

The entertainers from Germany performing at the Bockbier Fest and Heimat Abend.

Oregon - Sunday, April 10 was a wonderful day, the weather was warm and the food and entertainment at the “Oak Shade Grove” in Oregon, Ohio was fantastic. Where about two hundred people and the Toledo Schwabenverein were enjoying the annual Bockbier fest.  This year, however, the beer and food were further complemented with wonderful entertainment. Five great acts of songs and music, directly from Germany, made the day a fest to remember. Chef Eric Schiehlen and his staff gave us a fantastic meal of pork roast, Spätzle, red cabbage, salad and rolls.  Marsha Dunaway and her staff, as always, prepared a wonderful spread of desserts and coffee.

The beer, including bock beer, went particularly well with the Gehacktes, a German specialty that was served during intermission.  The dinner and entertainment, which as always, was open to the public started at 1:00 and ended almost at 8:00.

If you enjoy good food, music and Gemütlichkeit, you are welcomed to join us at our next fest, the Waldfest, on Sunday, July 24 at the “Oak Shade Grove” in Oregon Ohio.
