Michigan Music Hall of Fame inducts four new members

Dan Coppens  welcomed many past recipients of the Music Hall of Fame Award and thanked them for their ongoing support.

Sterling Heights - On Sunday, August 21, 2011, a beautiful afternoon was held at the Carpathia Club for the Michigan “State” Music Hall of Fame. The Induction Ceremonies included dinner, served at 12:30 PM, Awards Ceremony at 2:00 PM, and dancing from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM to the music of the Enzian Band.

Each inductee received a flower centerpiece for his/her table, a corsage or boutonniere, and a beautiful plaque and scrolls in recognition of the State’s highest honor as inductee into the Music Hall of Fame.

President Dan Coppens extended a warm welcome to all the recipients, their families, and guests.

In 2006 Dan Coppens formed a committee to include the German Ethnic Group. Many people have in the past supported and promoted German culture and music and have been great ambassadors of their heritage. So, it is with great honor to recognize Knuth Beth, Curt W. Kitter, Edith Kuplent, and Erwin Rauschendorfer this afternoon and thank them for their great dedication and ongoing promotion of music and cultural heritage.

Dan also welcomed many past recipients and thanked them for their ongoing support. We would like to recognize the past recipients Richard Wagner, Adam Medel, Ulrich and Gisela† Kirstein, Horst† and Erika Buller, George Kurz†, Marianne Rauer, Tom Schober, Toni Schuster†, Herbert Langegger, Toni Vetter-Jarvis, Helmut Kolke, Manfred Heuser†, Karl Peters, Erich Seitz†, Blondine Klimach, Karl Kurz, Richard Rick Michaels, and George Schleis.

After the induction ceremonies we were able to enjoy a great performance of music and Schuhplattler dances and songs by the Edelweiss Group, in honor of their president and inductee Erwin Rauschendorfer.

Another beautiful Music Hall of Fame afternoon ended with Gemütlichkeit and dancing.

The committee:  Dick Wagner, Dan Coppens, Ingrid Stein, Marianne and Hans Rauer

Knuth Beth, Curt W. Kitter, Edith Kuplent, and Erwin Rauschendorfer
