Sterling Heights - On Sunday, August 21, 2011, a beautiful
afternoon was held at the Carpathia Club for the Michigan “State” Music Hall
of Fame. The Induction Ceremonies included dinner, served at 12:30 PM,
Awards Ceremony at 2:00 PM, and dancing from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM to the music
of the Enzian Band.
Each inductee received a flower centerpiece for his/her table, a corsage or
boutonniere, and a beautiful plaque and scrolls in recognition of the
State’s highest honor as inductee into the Music Hall of Fame.
President Dan Coppens extended a warm welcome to all the recipients, their
families, and guests.
In 2006 Dan Coppens formed a committee to include the German Ethnic Group.
Many people have in the past supported and promoted German culture and music
and have been great ambassadors of their heritage. So, it is with great
honor to recognize Knuth Beth,
Curt W. Kitter,
Edith Kuplent, and
Erwin Rauschendorfer this afternoon
and thank them for their great dedication and ongoing promotion of music and
Dan also welcomed many past recipients and thanked them for their ongoing
support. We would like to recognize the past recipients Richard Wagner, Adam
Medel, Ulrich and Gisela† Kirstein, Horst† and Erika Buller, George Kurz†,
Marianne Rauer, Tom Schober, Toni Schuster†, Herbert Langegger, Toni
Vetter-Jarvis, Helmut Kolke, Manfred Heuser†, Karl Peters, Erich Seitz†,
Blondine Klimach, Karl Kurz, Richard Rick Michaels, and George Schleis.
After the induction ceremonies we were able to enjoy a great performance of
music and Schuhplattler dances and songs by the Edelweiss Group, in honor of
their president and inductee Erwin Rauschendorfer.
beautiful Music Hall of Fame afternoon ended with Gemütlichkeit and
