IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

- There are immediate repairs that must be made to the steeple at St. Joseph Church, and the building is temporarily closed until the repairs are complete. Our Mother of Divine Mercy pastor, Fr. Greg Tokarski, and Finance Council are working with the Archdiocese of Detroit to facilitate the work as soon as possible. We are meeting with engineers and contractors early next week regarding the scope of the project and to discuss bids for the work. As soon as that is done we anticipate the work will begin immediately to secure the structure and repair the damage to the steeple. As more information is available we will share. Thank you and please continue to pray for the health and vitality of our parish.

As explained below, the St. Joseph Day of Prayer and other Masses at St. Joseph are moving to St. Josaphat Church. Please help us spread the word! March 13 - Don't forget to "spring forward" one hour! 9:30 am Tridentine Mass at St. Josaphat 10 am Mass at Sweetest Heart of Mary Noon Mass at St. Josaphat followed by Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner in the Social Hall

Lenten Divine Mercy Mission: March 18, 19 (St. Joseph's Day), 20 (Palm Sunday) Fr. Chris Alar, MIC will lead the mission, preaching at various Masses and giving Parish Mission Talks. All parishioners should attend one or more talks, and invite a friend! Each talk will focus on a different topic, such as Understanding the Message and Devotion of Divine Mercy; Mary, the Mother of Mercy; the Church, Vessel of Mercy; Suffering, God's Gift of Mercy; and Communion and Confession, the Sacraments of Mercy.

St. Joseph

The talks will be right before or after Masses:

Friday 5 pm at Sweetest Heart of Mary prior to 6 pm Stations of the Cross and Confession and 6:30 pm Mass,

Saturday 10 am and 5 pm at St. Josaphat prior to Masses for the Solemnity of St. Joseph (see below),

Saturday 3 pm at Sweetest Heart of Mary prior to 4 pm Palm Sunday Mass,

Sunday 11:30 am at St. Josaphat Social Hall after 9:30 am Tridentine Palm Sunday Mass with Reception,

Sunday 1:30 pm at St. Josaphat Social Hall after the Noon Latin Novus Ordo Palm Sunday Mass with Reception.

A Michigan native, Fr. Alar currently serves as “Fr. Joseph” – the honorary title given to the Director of the Association of Marian Helpers located at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA.

St. Joseph Day of Prayer, Saturday, March 19 has been moved in its entirety to St. Josaphat Church!

We look forward to celebrating, honoring, and praying to Saint Joseph with you! A full day of spiritual events in the church and festivities in the social hall at St. Josaphat! Please bring non-perishable food to the St. Joseph Altar in the Social Hall for our Parish Food Pantry.

8 a.m. Latin Novus Ordo Mass followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Breakfast in the Social Hall

10 a.m. Divine Mercy Presentation

11 a.m. English Mass celebrated by Fr. Chris Alar

12:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. Italian Dinner

2 p.m. Spanish Mass celebrated by Bishop Donald Hanchon

5 p.m. Divine Mercy Presentation

6 p.m. Extraordinary Form Mass at St. Josaphat Church (for the Solemnity) followed by Candlelight Procession, and Dessert Reception in the Social Hall
